Dirne Community Health Center

Dirne Community Health Center (Dirne) provides compassionate health care for those in need. Dirne is a non-profit corporation and a Federally Qualified Health Center. It is the only organization of its kind in Kootenai County. The Center was established by community volunteers in 1989 as a volunteer clinic to serve the uninsured. Today, Dirne provides primary care access to patients who are uninsured, those with difficulty accessing necessary health care, patients with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare.

Dirne offers a variety of services including:

  • Primary Medical Care
  • Behavioral Health Care
  • SAGE Center – Primary Health Care for Seniors
  • Memory Clinic for those with cognitive challenges
  • Dental Clinic for emergency dental care
  • Dental Clinic for patients with Medicaid

  • Approximately 25,000 residents have no health insurance.
  • Only 5,500 residents currently have access to Dirne Community Health Center.
  • Over 150 residents with immediate medical needs are on our waiting list.

About:

Dirne Community Health Center is a non-profit organization in Kootenai County whose mission is to provide high-quality, integrated health care services and health education to our community through collaboration and innovation. The CHC is open to all patients, and is the only organization of its kind in Kootenai County. The Center receives $650,000, or 36 % of its total operational budget from the Bureau of Primary Health Care. The remaining balance of $1,146,000, or 64% of the total operational budget is generated from patient revenues and other non-federal grants and donations. The Center is located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at 1106 and 916 West Ironwood Drive and 1800 Lincoln Way.
